Removal of calluses (helomas) in a podiatry clinic
The removal of calluses, also called corns or hyperkeratosis, is a clinical procedure that is performed using specialized, safe and generally painless techniques when carried out by a trained professional.
1. Clinical assessment
It begins with a detailed foot assessment to determine:
- Type of lesion (hard, soft or diffuse heloma)
- Depth and degree of keratinization
- Presence of pain, inflammation, or infection
- Biomechanical factors (pressure, friction, footwear)

2. Delamination of hyperkeratosis
